Less than a year since the railway line at Dawlish was repaired, cracks have started to show in the new brickwork.
A hole appeared in the sea wall on Tuesday, causing trains to stop in the face of waves crashing over them.
Network Rail says the damage is minor - and that it's a regular issue because of the proximity of the sea to the line.
There have been calls for a new main rail route between Exeter and Plymouth - through Okehampton or Newton Abbot - avoiding Dawlish.
Network Rail's continuing to look into that. In the meantime, they'll be repairing the wall again.
