A difficult decision by Devon and Cornwall police to force around 80 officers to retire as a vital cost-cutting measure five years ago has been upheld by an employment tribunal.
The officers had all served for over 30 years, which allowed the force to invoke a rule called Regulation A19 to terminate their service.
Some of those affected won an appeal two years ago, but now that's now been overturned.
Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer says it's not a call for celebrations.
