Last-Minute costume panic?
Today is World Book Day (6 March)!
Youngsters across Devon are transforming into their beloved book characters and superheroes!
But what if you're facing a last-minute costume crisis? Don't worry, Libraries Unlimited has a brilliant solution!
14 libraries across the county are hosting costume swaps to save money and reduce waste.
Just dust off those old fancy dress outfits, give them a quick clean and head to your local participating library to swap them for something fresh and exciting.
This initiative is not just about saving money; it's also about saving the planet.
Did you know that UK Halloween costumes generate over 2,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually? That's equivalent to a staggering 83 million Coca-Cola bottles!
Participating libraries include:
-Pinhoe Library, Exeter
-Sidmouth
-Okehampton
-Tavistock
-Paignton
-Torquay
-Barnstaple
-Ilfracombe
-South Molton -
-Ivybridge
-Kingsbridge
-Teignmouth
-Torrington
-Crediton Library
So, if you need a quick costume fix, or just want to refresh your child's wardrobe, head to your local library.
