But it's the printer's fault, says council
An Exmouth father's published a letter he's been sent from Devon County Council riddled with spelling errors. Daniel Moore's been fined £60 for taking his child out of Bassetts Farm Primary School in term time.
He's coughing up, but is bemused that a letter from the education department has basic mistakes. He says: "I’m not going to pretend I’m a Spelling guru or a typing expert. But I’m also not the Head of Education in Devon. This woman’s in charge of the future generations education, our children’s education and she’s rubber stamping this tripe!
In a "dog ate my homework" excuse, Devon County Council says the fault lies with a new printing system. It admits the letter is "embarrassing" though - and spells it correctly.
