The next Bishop of Crediton is to be the first woman in the role in the South West.
The Diocese of Exeter has announced this morning that the Reverend Dame Sarah Mullally, Canon Treasurer at Salisbury Cathedral, will take up the post in September.
She's a former nurse who worked in the NHS for many years and was the youngest person to be appointed Chief Nursing Officer for England in 1999.
