A reduction in Government funding for post-16 education has led to one East Devon sixth form considering closing its doors for good.
A consultation was launched last week by Axe Valley Academy Sixth form after it was announced that they would be accepting their final intake of students this year.
They say that tougher budgets and a drop in student numbers in East Devon is the reason.
There are currently 75 pupils, with some classes having as few as one or two students.
The school will meet with parents next Tuesday to discuss the closure and say that no decision will be made until the consultation ends in November.
One option being considered is a partnership with Holyrood Academy.
