An event in Exmouth today aims to help prevent accidents and deaths at sea - by raising awareness of the risks.
Organisations including the Exmouth Gig Club, a lifeguard training firm and watersports clubs will be/are giving presentations and advice on spotting risks and avoiding them.
It comes a few days after a fisherman with no radio, lifejacket or flares had to be rescued by the local RNLI after his boat began breaking down.
The safety event takes place from 10 till 4 at Beach Gardens.
