A recent survey in Exmouth has found that residents are overwhelmingly against regeneration of the seafront.
That's according to the group Save Exmouth Seafront who are opposed to current plans to develop the area and want to protect the existing businesses there.
More than 1,250 people took part in the survey which was carried out by a local independent councillor.
The findings have been welcomed by the action group.
They have now asked MP for East Devon to step in to the row over the regeneration of Exmouth's seafront.
Save Exmouth Seafront say local councillors haven't listened to their concerns so they have approached Hugo Swire.
Mr Swire will now meet with the lead councillor on the project for discussions.
