Mother and son charged

A mother and son from Exeter have been sentenced after police discovered they were running a drug-dealing operation from their home.

Jayne Warren, 56, and Jake Warren, 31, both of Bennett Square, were sentenced at Exeter Crown Court for supplying large amounts of cocaine and cannabis.

In March 2025, detectives raided the family home and found more than £22,000 in cash hidden around the property.

Drugs with a potential street value of approximately £33,000 were found stashed in a box in the garden and a full drug preparation set-up in a spare bedroom.

Jake Warren's fingerprints were found on drug packaging. Investigators also found that Jayne Warren was depositing large sums of cash multiple times a week at the local post office, effectively laundering the money for her son.

The police investigation revealed that the mother managed the "business side" while the son handled the distribution of the drugs.

Both pleaded guilty to charges. Jake Warren was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison.

Jayne Warren was given a 3-year community order (including 240 hours of unpaid work) for money laundering and using her property to sell drugs.
