There's been a fall in cases of animal cruelty and neglect in Devon.
Last year the RSPCA recorded three thousand 606, seventy-one fewer than in 2013.
Most of the incidents relate to ignorance or negligence rather than deliberate cruelty.
One case which went to court last year was that of a couple in Exeter who repeatedly failed to take the charity's advice to treat their dog's skin condition.
