The fire service were called to Pankhurst Lane at a quarter past midnight.
Two crews tackled a fire in a large pile of timber inside the building.
A hazardous materials officer has been called in for advice because the roof is made from asbestos sheeting.
Crews are now damping down....the cause is being investigated.
