A Devon stalking victim has said no one should post anything on the internet if they wouldn't be willing to put it on a sheet of A4 outside their front door.
Devon and Cornwall police have launched a new campaign today to alert people to the dangers of cyber stalking.
Former ITV westcountry presenter Alexis Bowater was sent dozens of violent and sexual emails in which she and her child were threatened before the man was jailed in 2009.
She has urged people to be aware that anything posted on facebook or twitter can be used to work out where you socialise or live.
