Daily inspections taking place
Geological experts will be called in to inspect the site of a major landslide which caused a road to be closed in Exeter.
The main A377 Bonhay Road, which links St Davids Station to the Exe Bridges, was closed last week after the landslip. It was reopened later after council crews cleared the road.
However, much of the debris remains on the pavement.
Exeter St David’s Green councillor Diana Moore said people should get used to wetter winters because of climate change.
“It is having all sorts of impacts we haven’t yet got our heads around,” she said.
A Devon County Council spokesperson said: “The area was made safe and cordoned off last weekend to allow the road to re-open with temporary lights ahead of the start of this week.
“We are continuing to carry out daily visual checks of the landslip to monitor its condition.
“A detailed geological inspection is needed to determine the extent of the rockfall hazard before deciding on remedial work.”
