Devon Police are urging members of the public to be security conscious during the warmer weather.
They're concerned that people are leaving their homes insecure, which is leading to ‘walk in’ burglaries where offenders are opening unlocked doors or climbing through open windows.
During July, 62% of local burglaries took advantage of poor security – and this was during a period of poor weather.
