An investigation's been launched into the care of young people at Exeter's Royal Academy for Deaf Education.
Police and social services are involved in the inquiry which is said to be at an early stage.
The academy's chief executive has said he wants the concerns to be investigated and will be working with the authorities.
The school will continue to operate normally in the meantime.
