A letter has been sent to an Exeter MP from Devon County Councillors calling for more money to plug a £10 million funding gap.
The cross party letter, which is addressed to Ben Bradshaw, is calling for more money to support services for vulnerable young people and the elderly in Devon.
The letter has been signed by the leaders of the three main political parties on Devon County Council, as well as the head of the Independent Group.
It says that increasing demands on children's services and adult social care is putting financial pressure on the council, with huge increases in spending needed this year to meet demand.
They are asking for an additional £10 million to plug the current funding gap.
