Beaches in Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Shaldon have all failed to meet bathing water quality standards.
The Marine Conservation Society have published their Good Beach Guide today, showing which are recommended for having clean water, and which have higher-than-acceptable levels of bacteria from sewage or animal waste.
Sandy Bay and Dawlish Warren beaches are among those recommended but the Exmouth town beach has failed.... and many others only meet the minimum standard.
They include the beaches in Teignmouth and Sidmouth and Dawlish Town.
The MCS want South West water to provide more information about how often untreated sewage is being released into the environment.
