Several local people have been recognised in the New Year Honours.
76 year old John Greenslade in Thorverton has been given an MBE for services to agricultural education and training.
Peter Bromell in Tedburn St Mary has been given the British Empire Medal for services to his community.
And 77 year old Norman Pullen has also been awarded the British Empire Medal for his many years managing a team of volunteers who help with the services at Exeter Cathedral.
