Firefighters were called out to Uffculme in the early hours of this morning after a lorry collided with several houses in Fore Street.
There were no reported injuries.. but the fronts of the houses were damaged, along with electricity cables.
The area was cordoned off while the electricity company made the cables safe.
It's believed that the driver of the 40-foot lorry had been diverted off the motorway - but mistakenly followed local diversion signs instead of the ones for motorway traffic.
