Two men have been arrested by police investigating a serious attack on a man in Exeter.
Officers were called out to Newport Road last night after reports of a man with blood on his face.
The casualty, in his 30s, is now in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Two men aged 41 and 45 are in custody suspected of causing grievous bodily harm - police are appealing for information on the incident.
