There's been a big increase in the number of complaints about scams in Devon. The Devon and Somerset Trading Standards service, run by the county council, say there's been a 10 per cent rise since May last year.
The commonest causes for complaint in Devon include bogus lotteries and prize draws, and offers of legal services - there's also been a sharp rise in reports of dodgy payment protection services.
A month-long campaign's underway in the two counties to raise awareness of scams and get more people reporting them.
