Members of the public and an off-duty nurse tried to save the rider
A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a car on Exmoor yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the A39 near Windgate Farm, close to the village of Brendon, at around 4.20pm
The rider of the Motorbike was given CPR at the scene by members of the public and an off duty nurse, but was pronounced dead by an Air Ambulance Doctor. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The A39 remained closed for around five hours whilst police conducted a forensic examination of the scene. It was fully reopened just before 10pm.
Officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses to come forward, quoting log number 621 of the 11/05/19.
