The problems facing Devon's village and community halls are in the spotlight .... as a two-day national meeting and training event takes place in Exeter.
It brings together village hall advisers from all over the country, who'll be sharing best practice and hearing from funding organisations including the Big Lottery.
As rural communities lose other amenities including pubs, post offices and shops, their village halls are increasingly important as venues for outreach services as well as social activities.
