Saving lives and the environment
Devon Air Ambulance is introducing a new environmentally friendly cleaning system to their vehicles.
Using nothing more than an electrochemically activated water solution, the system sprays a mist that kills bacteria and viruses without the need for harmful chemicals. As the mist is so fine, it leaves no moisture on surfaces. Therefore, this process requires no additional drying methods and gives the team extra time to be ready to respond to call-outs.
The system is supplied by a company called the ‘Global Ecology Group’ who specialise in ecologically friendly solutions to killing germs. By using fewer chemicals, the technological innovation aligns with Devon Air Ambulance’s ethos of trying to minimise environmental damage.
This has been made possible by generous donations from South West Water. Their Director of Customer Service, Jo Ecroyd, comments, “Devon Air Ambulance provides a vital and life-saving role in our region, and we’re delighted that our donation is being used to purchase this essential equipment.”
