Exeter city council looks set to become one of the first local authorities in the country to start using a new levy on developers, to fund local transport schemes and amenities.
The Community Infrastructure Levy is expected to raise up to 20 million pounds over the next two years, if city councillors agree to adopt it at their meeting this evening.
It replaces the old Section 106 agreements under which local authorities negotiated contributions from developers on a site-by-site basis.
