There are new fears that there'll be no christmas lights in Exeter's High Street this year.
Last year's lights were saved at the eleventh hour, after a campign led by City Centre Manager John Harvey.
The Chairman of the Exeter Chiefs Tony Rowe stepped in to underwrite the cost after the City Council said they had no money in the budget to pay for them.
That situation hasn't changed, and High Street retailers are now being asked to pledge financial support for the 2012 lights, or there won't be any.
Princesshay and Guildhall displays won't be affected.
