Drink and drug drivers, some with no insurance or licence
The newly formed No Excuses team recorded 168 offences last month.
They made 15 arrests, 6 positive drug swipes, 5 positive breath tests, 45 vehicles were seized for having no insurance and 7 because the driver didn't have a licence.
They are working to enforce & educate about the fatal five driving behaviours: They are:
- Inappropriate or excessive speed
- Not wearing a seat belt
- Driver distractions including using mobile devices such as phones, 'sat navs' and tablets
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Careless and inconsiderate driving
