Ambitious plans for Exeter city centre are being drawn up by local councillors.
They want to build on the city's existing strengths and make more of some areas, such as the river, which they feel could be improved.
The strategy includes giving visitors a better sense of arrival at 'gateways' including the bus and railway stations, and making some neglected pockets more attractive.
Anyone who lives or works in Exeter is invited to get involved in a public consultation on the city's future - the council says it will welcome any realistic and workable ideas.
