A body found in the Teigngrace area of Newton Abbot earlier this month is that of a man who went missing in the area eight months ago.
Police attended a location on Friday 5 November following reports of human remains being found.
Now formal identification has taken place it has been confirmed that it is the body of 33-year-old Shaun Brown, who disappeared in March. Mr Brown's next of kin have been informed.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.
