Pedestrian hit by car
A local woman has died after being hit by a car on the main A380 South Devon Highway on Monday night.
Police were called at around 11.00 pm following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
Emergency services including numerous ambulance units and Devon Aiir Ambulance attended but despite their best efforts a 48-year-old local woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road was closed for several hours whilst al forensic examination of the area took place. Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the woman travelling on foot in the area of St Luke’s road and Aller Brake road around that time, or anyone who may have relevant dash-cam footage.
