Officers from Kingsbridge Police rescued a vulnerable woman from the River Yealm last night (Tuesday 19th March)
She was found using the GPS on her mobile phone and a search by police dog Harry and his handler.
Officers say she was shoulder deep in the water, and the officer from Kingsbridge and Ivybridge rescued her from the river.
She was left in the care of Paramedics.
More than 40 people have praised police on their Facebook post about the incident.
