The Grand Western Canal and towpath at Halberton are being officially reopened today, following a major restoration project to repair damage during the winter of 2012.
A large section of the northern bank was breached after water overtopped the embankment during torrential rain in November that year.
The reopening ceremony this lunchtime will involve the chairman of the parish council travelling along the reopened section of canal in his narrowboat.
