Injured woman's condition is stable
A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a woman in her forties in Paignton last month.
James Taylor, 47, who lives in the town, appeared at Plymouth District Magistrates Court on Monday 31 May and was remanded to appear at Exeter Crown Court on Thursday 1July.
Officers and paramedics were called to an address in Torquay Road just before 1am on Friday 28 May and found a seriously injured woman.
The victim remains stable following the assault.
