RNLI were called yesterday afternoon (Tuesday)
Salcombe RNLI has confirmed the death of a paraglider who got into difficulty off Start Point yesterday (Tuesday 23rd July).
The charity says it launched both the all-weather and in-shore lifeboats.
The crew of the in-shore lifeboat pulled the casualty from the water and took them ashore where crews started CPR.
But despite "strenuous efforts" by the crew and doctors, the casualty was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On Facebook Kingsbridge Police shared details of the incident saying: "Emergency services were called to a cove near Hallsands this afternoon after an aviation incident involving a paraglider. Unfortunately, despite everyone's best efforts, a man was pronounced dead at the scene. Our sincere condolences go to his family and friends"
