Several streets evacuated

Nearly 260 residents have been allowed back home after they were evacuated in Modbury last night.

A 100-metre cordon was set up on College Avenue and surrounding streets (on 17 February) after police raided a property and found suspicious items which needed the attention of explosive experts.

It's now believed the package contained fireworks.

A 26-year-old white British man is in custody on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a certificate.

Modbury Memorial Hall was set up as a relief spot for several hours.

A scene guard will remain in place at the raided property for much of the day.

It is not being treated as terror-related and officers believe there's no further risk to the public.
