Did thieves stay with you?

Police are calling on hotel and Airbnb owners in Plympton to help catch a gang of thieves.

Detectives believe four men stayed in local accommodation for several days leading up to the heist.

The masked gang used a stolen telehandler to rip two cash machines from the wall of the Co-op on Glen Road at around 1:45 AM on Monday (2nd February).

The heavy machinery was abandoned at the scene, and the suspects fled in stolen cars. Those getaway vehicles were later found torched in nearby woods with masks still inside.

It’s believed the cherry picker used in the raid was stolen from the Smithaleigh area, specifically near Piggeries Farm, just hours before the burglary took place.

Officers are now desperate for doorbell or dashcam footage from residents in these areas.

If you have information, call 101 or report it online, quoting log 50260027042. You can also stay anonymous by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
