Police remind drivers to be careful

It follows a spate of collisions

Police are reminding motorists of the importance of road safety following a spate of collisions in Plymouth.

Three collisions have occurred in city recently, with one pedestrian losing their life and two suffering life-changing injuries. 

The force is urging everyone to take responsibility for road safety, including driving with caution, not using mobile phones, wearing seatbelts, and avoiding drugs or alcohol. 

They also encourage cyclists and pedestrians to wear bright or reflective clothing and check for nearby cars before crossing.

 The five main causes of serious injuries and deaths on roads in Devon and Cornwall are:

*Driving at an excessive speed
*Not wearing a seatbelt
*Driving while using a mobile phone
*Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
*Careless or inconsiderate driving
