Work begins today to prepare for the building of the Crediton Link Road.
Construction of the seven and three quarter million pound road is due to get underway in the summer.
When completed it will cut traffic congestion in the town, leading to better air quality, and provide better access to the Lords Meadow Industrial Estate.
The preparatory work involves clearing some trees and hedgerows - and is being carried out now because it's before the start of the bird nesting season.
