A group of MP's and council leaders will today be pressing the government to upgrade the rail line in the South West.
They call the route the UK's cinderella network.
Yesterday a report on alternative rail routes to the vulnerable coastal line at Dawlish was published, which concluded they offer poor value for money.
The so called South West peninsula rail task force say the network in the region is long overdue for big decisive investment to match the huge growth in passenger numbers.
Its members will be meeting in Westminster and they're urging Prime Minister David Cameron to provide a railway that is truly fit for the twenty first century.
