A public meeting is to be held to discuss whether a colony of wild beavers should be allowed to continue living on the River Otter in east Devon.
Last month DEFRA announced its intention to catch the beavers and rehome them in a zoo or animal centre... because of the risk of disease.
But many local people want them to stay if they're found NOT to be diseased.
The Devon Wildlife Trust is hosting a meeting on August 19th in Ottery, where people can get information from beaver experts and give their own views.
If the local community are keen for the beavers to stay, that information will be used by the Trust in an application to DEFRA to allow that to happen.
