Exeter's RD&E hospital says it'll be back on target for treating cancer patients in April next year - after having failed to meet the deadlines for all patients for 18 months.
The hospital fell behind after a 28 per cent increase last year in the number of patients referred for diagnosis or treatment - with only 74 per cent being treated within 62 days of an urgent referral.
But the hospital is now creating a new endoscopy suite for testing - along with extra beds for cancer patients.
