But Battle of Britain memorial flight cancelled
It takes more than a gust of wind to stop the Red Arrows. They took off from Exeter Airport for a display over Sidmouth on Friday evening, did their thing, then returned to base via the skies over Exmouth.
But unfortunately, a Battle of Britain memorial flight over the town has been cancelled because of strong winds earlier at their base in Lincolnshire. Given their vintage, that's probably a wise, if disappointing, decision which has put paid to hopes of seeing a Hurricane, Lancaster bomber and two Spitfires. The Red Arrows have a tad more up-to-date technology.
The air display's part of Sidmouth Regatta. They broke the news on Twitter early this morning, but confirmed the Red Arrows would still fly.
