Local trading standards are warning parents to make sure all toys given to their children for Christmas aren't a safety hazard.
It's a good idea for them to check anything bought by a well-meaning friend or relative before giving it to the child to play with.
Parents should look out for any sharp edges, or small parts that could come loose and cause a child to choke.
The packaging of the gift should also show what age child the toy is suitable for, and should also carry a mark showing it complies with European safety standards.
