Devon county council has confirmed that it's working with schools to help teachers and other staff identify and deal with suspected cases of child abuse.
This week the council came under fire for a mistake back in 2007 - which allowed a paedophile to continue abusing two young girls, even though concerns were raised by their schools.
The Cabinet member for children, James McInniss, says teachers are being made aware of the signs of abuse .. and also in how to react if a child appears to be confiding that they're a victim.
