Signs of cocaine use have been found in eleven buildings of Exeter University - including some mainly used by staff, not students.
An investigation was carried out by the student newspaper Exepose, as a follow-up to a similar check a few years ago.
Reporters used specialist swabs which can detect residue of the Class A drug.. to check surfaces in the toilets of 15 buildings on the main campus.
Eleven tested positive, including Northcote House which is the administrative hub of the campus and is mainly used by staff, not students.
Exeter University says it has a zero tolerance policy on drugs... and that last year there were just 23 incidents among its 18 thousand students, mainly related to the use of cannabis, not cocaine.
The university is also pointing out that most of the toilets tested are used by hundreds of people each year
