Exeter University students have welcomed the news that they're going to be included in the consultation on controversial plans to turn off some of the city's street lighting.
The students launched a Save Our Streetlights campaign back in 2010 after hearing about the cost-saving plan by the county council.
The campaign has won widespread support from local residents, the city's MP Ben Bradshaw and the Suzy Lamplugh Trust.
The consultation will take place next May and will involve a map being drawn up for each ward of Exeter, showing which streets will remain lit and which will not, under the council's plans.
