A large-scale survey's being carried out to explore whether lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-gender people are suffering discrimination in Devon.
People in those categories are being urged to complete the confidential survey set up by the Intercom Trust.
Their previous survey in 2006 found many people had experienced discrimination from the police, government services, and local councils - particularly when it came to adoption or fostering.
They also found that many respondents in rural areas felt they had to keep their sexuality a secret - while those in towns and cities were much more willing to come out.
