Two fires at the weekend thought to be arson, but girl is rescued from swing
There have been a number of suspected arson attacks on vehicles in the early hours of Sunday morning. Not long after sunrise at half past four, the fire service in Brixham was called to what looked like trees on fire. It turned out to be a vehicle well alight in an open fiend at Churston with Galmpton.
They called police, as they did just after seven this morning, when a lorry was on fire in Chatto Road in the Hele area of Torquay. The cab of the light goods vehicles been severely damaged.
There’s a happier ending for an 11-year-old girl in Axminster who got stuck in a swing in Foxhill Park on Saturday night. She had the excitement of a fire engine turning up to rescue here - and she’s not hurt.
