Exeter's Met office is enlisting the help of the public to help make its forecasts more accurate.
It is inviting people to send regular descriptions of the weather to a website, so that the information can be fed into the forecasting models.
Senior meteorologist Charlie Powell hopes children in particular will get involved and he says it will help them learn about what causes different weather conditions.
