Mede, which is designed for people with dementia and their carers, is in the running for an award from the Alzheimers Society.
The facility offers help for carers so that they can have a break, with a sit-in service and assistance with meals and shopping.
It also has an activity club in the next-door building, which can be used by local dementia sufferers as well as those staying at the home.
The winners of the Dementia Friendly Awards will be announced on May 20th.
